Stoptober 2026
Stoptober is a 28 day stop smoking challenge run by the Department of Health & Social Care in England, delivered through the NHS.
The campaign launched in 2012 and was the first mass attempt of its kind in the UK.
Participants can sign up for free support that includes the NHS Quit Smoking app, daily emails, a personal quit plan and advice of nicotine replacement therapy.
More than 2 million people have attempted to quit since Stoptober began.
The goal is to reach 28 days smoke free. If you can do that, you’re 5 times more likely to quit for good.
