Chippenham Lions appeals for new volunteers

Chippenham Lions have launched an appeal to attract new members to its organisation.

The Lions Club of Chippenham is a registered charity and one of 44,500 clubs across the world that are part of Lions Clubs International and each year they raise money for local causes and international charities. Lions believe that local people are best placed to provide help and support to less fortunate members of the community in Chippenham, Corsham and the surrounding villages.

On a local level, the activities in which the Club become involved include:

Fund Raising on behalf of various local charities including Air Ambulance, Dorothy House and Transport for the Disabled as well as individual assistance to local needy, aged and disadvantaged persons.

Community Service Work to provide entertainment, outings and sporting facilities as well as providing hot dinners on Christmas Day for those spending Christmas alone.

As well as this work, every month Chippenham Lions enjoy at least one social event – an informal or formal night, or a picnic, trip or visit to the theatre or something similar.

They meet at Chippenham Golf Club, Malmesbury Road, Chippenham on the 3rd Monday in the month.
